Gordon Chisholm

Gordon Chisholm is a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at South East Technological University (SETU), where he has played a leading role for over 19 years in teaching and developing the BSc (Hons) Architectural & BIM Technology programme. He is a Registered Architect, Technologist, and Certified Passive House Designer with extensive experience in low-energy building design. Gordon is a founding member of the BIM Collective Research Group, established in 2013 to strengthen industry-academia ties in the AECO sector, and serves as the WorldSkills Ireland Expert for Digital Construction.

His research interests focus on Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital construction technologies, sustainable design, and action research that bridges education and industry practice. He emphasizes applied research, personnel development, and the integration of innovative construction methodologies into academic and professional settings.

The recent publication highlights his engagement in action research within the construction industry, particularly in advancing BIM adoption through educational and workforce development initiatives. His work consistently aligns with improving industry practices via academic collaboration and technological innovation.

Gordon advises on digital construction education and leads initiatives connecting academic training with industry needs, particularly through the BIM Collective Research Group.
