Dr. Goran Vodicka is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture and MArch course leader at Sheffield Hallam University's School of Engineering and Built Environment. He holds a PhD, MArch, PgDip, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His research focuses on urban inequalities and socially-engaged design, with a doctoral thesis on intercultural sociability in ethnically diverse neighborhoods. He has led interdisciplinary projects such as the HERA-funded 'Festspace' study on festivals and inclusive public spaces, and co-developed the DESINC project on inclusive design pedagogies.
Teaching emphasizes constructivist methodologies, integrating professional experience to foster critical understanding of socio-economic urban complexities. He has taught at the University of Sheffield and currently leads modules including Architecture Studio 2 and Cultural Context courses. His professional practice spans humanitarian architecture with UNDP/UNDP and Shelter Centre, contributing to guidelines like 'Transitional Settlement: Displaced Populations.'
