Goran Musić is a Research Fellow at the University of Vienna's Research Platform for the Study of Transformations and Eastern Europe. He holds a PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute. His academic career includes positions at the University of Graz, Central European University, and the University of Vienna, focusing on labor history in East-Central and Southeast Europe.

- Cold War-era East-South exchanges
- Workplace democracy and organizational structures
- Nationalism's intersection with socio-economic development
Current research explores textile industry subcontracting's impact on Balkan and Maghreb labor markets during the Cold War. His work bridges Global Labor History with commodity chain analysis, emphasizing transnational production networks.
Key publications include Making and Breaking the Yugoslav Working Class (2021), analyzing self-management in Yugoslav factories, and co-edited volumes on global commodity chains and labor relations.
