Goran M. Roglić is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Chemistry, leading the Department of Applied Chemistry. He has held administrative roles including Dean (since 2020), Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (2003–2005), and Deputy Chairman of the Faculty Board (2016–2018). His academic career began at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Chemistry (PhD 2001) and includes over three decades of research and teaching.
Education: BSc (1989), MSc (1996), and PhD (2001) in Chemistry from the University of Belgrade. His research spans medicinal chemistry (focusing on dopaminergic/serotonergic ligands and antipsychotics), environmental chemistry (water pollution treatment), and pharmaceutical synthesis. Notable projects include the EU-funded VISION initiative addressing PFAS contamination and Serbia's national research programs on drug development.
Key contributions include synthetic methods for pharmaceutical intermediates, structure-activity relationship studies of bioactive compounds, and advanced oxidation processes for environmental remediation. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers, two textbooks, and holds ORCID 0000-0002-6727-2604. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, evident in international partnerships like the SOLVAY-funded VISION project.
As an educator, he teaches courses on industrial chemistry, advanced oxidation processes, and food contaminants. His lab focuses on translating chemical innovations into practical solutions for health and environmental challenges.
