Gong Jinlong

Prof. Gong Jinlong is a Pei Yang Chair Professor at Tianjin University and Founding Director of the International Research Center for Energy and Chemical Engineering-Tianjin (IRCE2). He holds multiple leadership roles, including Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Technology and former Associate Dean for Research at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, CO2 conversion, and solar energy applications. Prof. Gong has been recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher and holds over 300 publications with an H-index of 85.

Education includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University (2009–2010) under Prof. George Whitesides. His honors include Foreign Membership in Academia Europaea (2021), Fellowships from CIESC and the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the National Natural Science Award (2019). He leads the Energy and Catalysis Adventure Team, collaborating on industrial and interdisciplinary projects to address global energy challenges.

Research highlights include theory-guided catalyst design, solar water splitting, and CO2 electroreduction. His lab develops novel materials for energy storage and conversion, leveraging experimental and computational tools.
