Goli Hashemi is an Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt University, where she teaches in the Doctor and Master's of Occupational Therapy programs. She holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and is currently a part-time PhD candidate at the same institution, focusing on improving access to primary healthcare for people with disabilities in low- and middle-income countries.

Her research bridges disability inclusion, public health, and healthcare access. She has led studies in Cameroon, West Africa, and Vietnam, contributing to global health equity frameworks. Recent peer-reviewed work includes studies on violence against children with disabilities in West Africa (BMC Public Health, 2018); SDGs and Universal Health Coverage (Journal of Disability and Global South, 2017); and diabetes-related driving fitness for older adults (Canadian Journal of Diabetes, 2010). Themes span global health, disability rights, and evidence-based practice.
She is affiliated with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, American Occupational Therapy Association, and the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy. Additionally, she serves as an associate member of Toronto's International Center for Disability and Rehabilitation.
