She is also a Professor in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences within Boston University's College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College.
- BA, Psychology (Honors), McGill University
- MA, Applied Psychology, Concordia University

Her research focuses on language and memory processes, particularly in aphasia and Alzheimer's disease. She has extensively studied syntactic comprehension, working memory's role in language processing, and therapeutic interventions for communication disorders. Her work spans psycholinguistic analysis, neuroimaging of language systems, and rehabilitation strategies.
Recent publications show expertise in both clinical linguistics and public health. While most recent 2021-2022 articles address pandemic response systems, earlier work (2013-2017) explores aphasia treatment, verb production, and syntactic processing. This reflects an interdisciplinary approach combining cognitive neuroscience with practical health science applications.
She has secured substantial funding from federal agencies like NIH and US Department of Education, as well as foundations like the Alzheimer's Association. Her leadership roles include Dean of Sargent College (2005-2013), where she expanded research capacity and program selectivity.
