Gladys Y. Aponte

Gladys Y. Aponte is a Course Instructor and fieldwork advisor in the Dual Language/Bilingual and TESOL programs at Bank Street College of Education, where she has taught since 2013. She concurrently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Children’s Equity Project, Arizona State University, focusing on policy briefs for dual language education. Her academic background includes an MSEd from Bank Street and a PhD in Urban Education from CUNY Graduate Center.

Her research emphasizes translanguaging pedagogy, raciolinguistic ideologies, and equity in multilingual education.
