Glad Fryer

Dr Glad Fryer is a Lecturer in Fine Art at Falmouth University, UK. Her practice-driven research explores the transformation of photographic images into textured physical forms through painting, printing, and drawing, emphasizing the interplay between materiality and perception.

Research interests include:

• The materiality of images
• Phenomenology and embodied experience
• Personal/political/ethical/aesthetic relationships
• Archiving, forgetting, and sensory layering

Her artistic practice investigates how textured surfaces arrest and mediate human sensations, blending photographic and ocular traits with tactile materiality. Recent exhibitions include the Salon Art Prize (2010) and EMERGENCY4 (2010), focusing on themes of image reception and generation.
