Giuseppe Ezio Manetto is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Mechanics at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment, University of Catania. His academic career began with a PhD in Agricultural Mechanics and Mechanization (1999) and a long tenure as a researcher, culminating in his current role since December 2021. He holds a national qualification as an Associate Professor in Agricultural, Forestry, and Biosystems Engineering.
Education: Graduated in Mechanical Engineering (110/110 cum laude, 1992) from the University of Catania, with a thesis at FIAT Research Center. Completed a PhD in Agricultural Mechanics and Mechanization (1999).
Research focuses on post-harvest processing, agricultural machinery safety (noise/vibration risks), biogas production from biomass, mechanical harvesting, and prototype development (e.g., transportable milking systems and arthropod distribution machinery). He co-authored 125+ publications and holds 2 patents for agricultural equipment.
Teaching includes courses on agricultural machinery, green area management, and precision agriculture techniques. He also contributed to teacher training programs.
Administrative roles include Department Delegate for Research Quality, committee memberships for research grants, and leadership in projects funded by MIUR, MIPAF, and regional programs. He evaluates technical and economic aspects of research proposals for Piedmont’s POR-FERS program.
