Giulio Malucelli

Giulio Malucelli is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at Politecnico di Torino, where he also serves as a member of the SISCON Interdepartmental Center for infrastructure safety. His research focuses on materials engineering, polymer chemistry, and sustainable design, particularly in flame retardation and hybrid organic-inorganic materials.

His recent work explores AI-driven material design through projects like AI-TranspWood for transparent wood development and BIOMAPS for bio-based polymer systems. He leads 22 funded research projects including EU Horizon and PNRR initiatives, with a focus on circular economy approaches.
