Giuliana Parotto is Full Professor of Political Philosophy at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Trieste, Italy. She serves on the Department’s Board and participates in several Boards of Studies covering Political and Administrative Sciences, Governmental Sciences and Public Policies, and European Policies for Digital, Ecological and Social Transitions.
Research Focus
Her scholarly work centers on political philosophy with a strong emphasis on the intersection of memory, identity, and violent conflict. She directs multidisciplinary projects that explore how societies remember war, manage cultural heritage amid insecurity, and respond to migration pressures. Recent initiatives extend these themes to contemporary Ukraine, linking security, migration, and heritage protection in a single analytical frame.
