Giulia Venturini is a Research Fellow in the Department of Government & Public Policy at the University of Strathclyde, where she joined in May 2024. She leads the project Politician, Policies, and the Reproduction of Wealth, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation under Dr. Despina Alexiadou's supervision. Her work focuses on how institutional change impacts radical right support, executive cabinet composition, political knowledge, and women's political representation.
Education: BSc and MSc in Economics from Bocconi University (2010–2017), followed by a PhD in Political Science from Florida State University (2018–2024). Her research spans gender quotas, minority representation, and social cohesion in Western Europe.
Research trends include analyzing gender quotas' effects on political knowledge and cabinet diversity, institutional design for minority inclusion, and regional social cohesion in Italy. Her work contributes to UN SDGs related to education and gender equality.
Awards include two APSA Travel Grants (2021 and 2023). She actively participates in academic conferences, including the American Political Science Association and WhoGov Workshop, and engages in journal peer reviews and committee memberships.
