Dr. Giulia Torello-Hill is a Senior Lecturer at the University of New England's School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on the reception of classical Roman drama in Renaissance Italy, particularly the interplay between textual exegesis, iconography, and performance practices. She holds a Laurea in Lettere (magna cum laude) from the University of Genoa and a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
Her work intersects Italian Studies, Renaissance Intellectual History, and Art History. Key projects include the ARC-funded study of Terence's reception in Renaissance Ferrara and collaborative work on the Lyon Terence edition. She has held prestigious fellowships at Villa I Tatti and the Newberry Library.
Teaching areas include Italian Language, Literature, and Renaissance Material Culture. Awards include the Hanna Kiel Fellowship (2015-16) and ARC Discovery Project leadership (2015-17).
