Giulia Riccò is an Assistant Professor of Italian at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University and degrees from the Università di Bologna. Her research focuses on the transnational circulation of Italian identity, fascism, migration, and memory studies, particularly in Brazil. She is completing a book manuscript titled Under the Auspices of Dante: Italianità and Fascism in Brazil, examining fascist ideas among São Paulo's middle class. Riccò co-founded the Transnational Italian Studies Working Group, rethinking Italian Studies through interdisciplinary, global frameworks. She has held affiliations with institutions such as the Universidade de São Paulo and the Universität zu Köln. Her teaching and scholarship emphasize cross-border cultural dynamics and the fluidity of national identity.
