Giulia Grisolia is a Fixed-term Assistant Professor at the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI) at Politecnico di Torino. She is a member of the Interdepartmental Center Ec-L - Energy Center Lab and actively contributes to multiple academic programs as an invited member of both the College of Biomedical Engineering and the College of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Automotive Engineering.
Her research interests span across Biofuels, Biomedical engineering, Biophysics, Critical raw materials, Sustainability assessment, Sustainable development, Sustainable energy, and Thermodynamics. Her work aligns with multiple Sustainable Development Goals including Good health and well-being, Affordable and clean energy, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable cities and communities, Responsible consumption and production, and Climate action. Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental engineering, energy systems, and biomedical applications, with particular emphasis on thermodynamic principles applied to sustainable technologies.
Dr. Grisolia's publication record shows strong activity in interdisciplinary research connecting thermodynamics with environmental and biomedical applications. Her recent work explores biomethane production, thermal modeling for workplace safety, fundamental thermodynamic principles, time theory, and magnetic field applications in inflammation treatment. Her research demonstrates a unique blend of theoretical physics with practical engineering solutions for sustainability challenges.
She has contributed to significant commercial research projects including the Impact of Critical Raw Materials on Renewable Energy Production and Storage Technology Chains (2024) as a research group member, and served as Scientific Director for the Critical analysis of battery life cycle assessment studies (2023).
Dr. Grisolia holds patents in innovative biomedical technologies, including an Insole for neuro-rehabilitative motor stimulation and Visual retraining for telemedicine, demonstrating her translational research approach from theoretical concepts to practical applications.
