Giulia Felappi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Southampton. She holds a PhD from King’s College London (2015), where she also held an Analysis Trust Studentship. Her research focuses on the intersection of philosophy of language and metaphysics, particularly the nature of propositions and facts. She is also deeply engaged with the history of Early Analytic Philosophy, with a focus on underrepresented figures like Dorothy Wrinch and Susanne Langer.
Education:
- PhD in Philosophy, King’s College London (2015)
- Studies at San Raffaele University (Milan), Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa), and visiting periods at Oxford University and NYU.
Research Interests: Philosophy of Language, Metaphysics, History of Early Analytic Philosophy, Propositions and Facts, Analytic Philosophy Figures.
Research Projects:
- Active Project: The nature of the objects of thought and assertion (Arts & Humanities Research Council)
- Completed Project: Loving, wondering and knowing: our mental life and all its aspects (British Academy)
Awards: Analysis Trust Studentship (2015).
Teaching: Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules in philosophy, including topics in metaphysics and the history of analytic thought.
