Her research centers on 19th-century Russian Realism and medical humanities, specifically exploring tensions between metaphysics and materialism in Russian cultural/medical discourses (1840s–1880s). Her book project analyzes how canonical Russian writers (Goncharov, Turgenev, Saltykov-Shchedryn, Dostoevsky) created psychologically illegible characters, challenging critics' expectations of clarity in psychological prose. She also co-edited a volume on epidemics and contagion in Slavic/East European studies and investigates Dostoevsky’s portrayal of contagion through the figure of the shrieker—a person experiencing contagious religious hysteria linked to epidemic crises.
Recent publications include analyses of Turgenev’s Fathers and Children (2023) and Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov (2022). Her work engages affect theory, narratology, and interdisciplinary approaches to medical storytelling.
