Gishan Dissanaike is the Dean of Cambridge Judge Business School and holds the Adam Smith Professorship of Corporate Governance at the University of Cambridge. He is also a Director of Studies in Management Studies at Trinity College and a Fellow of Hughes Hall. His academic journey includes a BA from the University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka), followed by an MPhil and PhD from the University of Cambridge.
His research focuses on stock markets' role in corporate governance, market efficiency, contrarian investment strategies, behavioral finance, and emerging markets. He has advised international corporations, investment banks, and regulatory agencies, and has held visiting faculty roles at Cornell University.
Professor Dissanaike is a member of the Finance subject group at Cambridge Judge, editorial board member of multiple journals, and part of the Cambridge Corporate Governance Network (CCGN). His career includes prior roles as a University Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader at Cambridge, alongside an ESRC Research Fellowship and professional affiliations with accounting institutions.
