Dr. Gisèle LaPointe is NSERC/Dairy Farmers of Ontario Industrial Research Chair in Dairy Microbiology at the University of Guelph. Her research investigates microbial communities in dairy systems, probiotics' impact on gut health, and functional ingredient development from food processing byproducts. Current projects examine biofilm management across dairy value chains and bioactive compound production through fermentation.
