Giovanni Tarantino is a historian specializing in early modern history, with a focus on tolerance, religious minorities, and cross-cultural exchanges. He has held significant research roles at institutions such as the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (University of Melbourne) and the School of Humanities at The University of Western Australia. His academic affiliations include fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and the Käte Hamburger Kolleg (KHK), where he pursued projects on Sinophilia and historical writing.
