معرفی
Giovanni Li Destri Nicosia is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry (CHIM/02) at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Catania. He obtained his Master's Degree in Chemistry with honors in 2006 and a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the same university in 2010. His research focuses on the chemical-physical study of soft interfaces, particularly self-organization phenomena of soft matter under two-dimensional confinement, reorganization processes under mechanical stimuli, and modulation of intermolecular interactions at interfaces. He employs structural characterization techniques based on X-rays and neutrons through experiments at synchrotrons and neutron sources.
- Master's Degree in Chemistry (cum laude), University of Catania, 2006
- PhD in Chemical Sciences, University of Catania, 2010
His research has led to over 10 experiments at European infrastructures, more than 60 collaborative publications, and over 30 presentations at conferences. He has served as Principal Investigator for projects like "Self-assembly control of surfactant-decorated nanoparticles at liquid and membrane interfaces" under the Rita Levi Montalcini program and "Reconfigurable Low-Dimensional Nano-Structures at Liquid Interfaces" (PRIN). He also led research units for projects like "Green Protein-Based Nanohybrids as Adaptive Surfactants" (PRIN).
In teaching, he supervises theses for undergraduate Chemistry students (>20) and Materials Chemistry Master's students (>10). His courses include Physical Chemistry I AL (three-year degree) and Physical Chemistry of Soft Matter (Master's in Chemical Sciences).
