Giorgio Milanesi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Humanistic, Social, and Cultural Enterprise Disciplines of the University of Parma. His academic work focuses on medieval art history, particularly sculpture, architecture, and painting from the late 10th to mid-14th century in the Po Valley, Alpine Italy, and western France.

- Medieval artistic production in ecclesiastical and urban contexts

His publications examine fragmentary medieval artworks, church complexes, and bishop-led architectural projects. Current works include studies on the Valserena complex and Aquitanian-Italian schism representations.
