Giorgio Buccellati is a Professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Los Angeles, specializing in Ancient Near Eastern studies. His research focuses on political institutions in ancient Syro-Mesopotamia, Mesopotamian religious structures, and ethnic integration dynamics involving Amorites and Hurrians during the third and second millennia BCE.
