Gino Dal Pont is a Professor of Law and currently serves as Interim Dean and Head of the School of Law at the University of Tasmania. He has held academic roles at the institution since 1991, progressing from a tutor to Professor by 2005. His professional qualifications include being a Certified Practising Accountant since 1995 and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales since 1992.
Education: B Com LLB (Hons) from the University of Tasmania (1986–1990), GDLP from the University of Technology Sydney (1991), LLM from the University of Michigan (1992–1993), LLD from the University of Tasmania (2003), and M App Law (hc) from the College of Law (2015).
Research interests span Legal Ethics, Equity and Trusts, Charity Law, Costs Law, and other specialized areas. His work has been cited in over 2000 court cases, influencing legal practice. Recent publications include seminal monographs on Trusts, Succession, and Legal Ethics.
Funding: Received a $16,991 grant (2018–2019) for research on retirement village contracts.
