Gina Pietrantoni is an Instructor of Italian in the School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University (ASU). She holds an M.A. in Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Venice (2004) and a Laurea in Foreign Languages and Cultures from the University of L’Aquila (2000), supplemented by certifications in college instruction (ACUE, 2020) and online teaching (ASU, 2017).
Her teaching focuses on Italian language instruction across proficiency levels, including elementary through advanced courses, as well as cultural studies courses like Speak Italy: Lang, People, Cultr and Italian Culture: Good, Bad & Ugly. She has taught in face-to-face, blended, and online formats, and contributes to curriculum development for Italian language programs.
Pietrantoni is a faculty director of ASU’s summer Study Abroad program in Italy, integrating experiential learning into her pedagogy. Her professional affiliations include the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI). She has contributed to textbooks such as Prego! and Immagina, and served as a consultant for educational publishers like McGraw-Hill and the National Foreign Language Center.
