Gina Kammer is an adjunct instructor teaching writing and journalism courses in Mankato, with a focus on foundational skills development for students in all disciplines. She holds a BA from Bethany College (2010) and an MA in English Literature from the University of South Dakota (2012). Currently works as a Media Researcher at Capstone Publishers while maintaining active teaching commitments.
Her pedagogical approach draws heavily from interdisciplinary influences: performance techniques from her theater minor, visual arts strategies from painting courses (including study in Italy), and literary analysis methods from Bethany College faculty like Dr. Hanna, Professor Johnson, and Professor Bloedel. Abroad experiences in London further enriched her global literary perspective.
- Key educational background: BA Bethany College (2010), MA University of South Dakota (2012)
- Teaching innovations: Uses painting metaphors for writing instruction, integrates drama performance techniques, and employs multi-artwork comparative analysis for poetry
- Career aspiration: Publish work in Christian literature - an underrepresented academic area encouraged by her Bethany education
Reflects warmly on formative Bethany experiences including late-night painting sessions, theater collaborations, and literary magazine production. Advocates for students to fully engage institutional resources like flexible study abroad programs and independent research opportunities.
