Gillian Stanfield is an Associate Professor at the University of Utah in the School of Medicine, Department of Genetics. Her research focuses on using genetic analysis to understand the regulation of cell biological processes such as differentiation, signaling, and migration, particularly in Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) models. She is also the Director of Community and Outreach, with an emphasis on the education and mentoring of graduate students in genetics and preclinical medicine.
- Research Interests: Genetic regulation of sperm motility and activation, protease-mediated cellular processes, programmed cell death, and meiotic chromosome morphogenesis in C. elegans.
- Publications Trends: Her work spans key areas in Genetics and Developmental Biology, with a focus on C. elegans as a model organism, proteases in gamete activation, and mechanisms of apoptosis.
