Gillian Kennedy

Gillian Kennedy is a Translational Research Fellow at Nulungu Research Institute, University of Notre Dame Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and a Master of International and Community Development. With 20 years of experience as an educator and facilitator, she specializes in program evaluation within justice, education, and Aboriginal Community-Controlled sectors.

Her research focuses on qualitative methods and impact evaluation, particularly collaborating with WA Police and Judiciary on cultural competency programs. She has supervised a Master’s student examining Aboriginal funeral experiences.

Awarded the 2020 Australian Awards for University Teaching and 2018 Vice Chancellor’s Award for her educational initiatives, Kennedy also chairs Backroom Press Inc., a Broome-based publishing house. She is affiliated with the Australian Evaluation Society and Hau Meni & Associates.
