Gillian Armstrong is a Professor of Business Education and Associate Dean – Development and Partnerships (Domestic) at Ulster University Business School. She has held senior leadership roles for over two decades, including Director of the Business Engagement Unit and Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics. Her work focuses on enhancing regional skills provision, talent development, and FDI opportunities in Northern Ireland.
- Research Interests: Marketing (particularly Product Development and Consumer Research), SME marketing, digital customer loyalty, skills development, and educational models.
- Affiliations: Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Northern Ireland), Board Member of Arts and Business NI, member of Chartered Association of Business Schools, and Visiting Professor at Hebei Geo University, China.
Her research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals by improving skills provision and economic competitiveness. She has published extensively on digital loyalty card data, small business marketing, and consumer behavior. In 2023, she was awarded an MBE for services to Higher Education and Business. Her projects include initiatives in higher-level apprenticeships and commercialization of ideas through the Agri-Food Business Development Centre.
