Gilles Saussier

Gilles Saussier is an artist, photographer, and lecturer affiliated with the National School of Photography (ENSP) and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris). He has been teaching at ENSP since 2013, where he serves as the educational coordinator for the first-year Master's program and co-leads the Arles Observatory workshop with Tadashi Ono. His work explores the intersection of editorial practices, text-image relationships, and site-specific artistic methodologies, focusing on documentary photography's role in contemporary art and cultural memory.

At ENSP, he coordinates the Mentorship Programme and the Master’s Diploma through Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE). His recent publications and exhibitions highlight experimental documentary techniques and post-documentary photography.

Saussier contributes to laboratories such as the CRAI, FIG Laboratory, and PI Laboratory, focusing on interdisciplinary research in photography and cultural spaces.
