Gilberto Lopez is an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University's School of Transborder Studies, specializing in addressing social and health inequities in Latino communities. He is the founding director of El Laboratorio, a research studio tackling social inequities, and a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Institute at Oxford University. His work includes projects like COVIDLatino.org, a health communication campaign for Latinos, and the Migratory Student Summer Academy (MSSA), a STEM program for migrant farmworkers' children. He has received prestigious awards including the 2024 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award and the Provost Charter Professor Award.
