Gijsbert van den Brink

Prof. Gijsbert van den Brink is a Full Professor in Theology & Science at the Faculty of Religion and Theology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His work bridges Christian theology with natural sciences, focusing on evolutionary theory, the future of theology as an academic discipline, and theological anthropology in the Anthropocene. He chairs the Verzameld Werk A.A. van Ruler committee and serves as a Fellow of the International Society for Science and Religion.

Research interests include the coherence of evolutionary theory with Reformed theology, theological responses to climate change, and interdisciplinary biblical interpretation. Notable projects include the 'Science Bible' published in 2022 and an upcoming 2024 edited volume on 'Progress in Theology.'
