Gijsbert Korevaar

Dr. ir. Gijsbert Korevaar is a part-time Lecturer in Circular Energy Transition at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences since September 1, 2021. He combines expertise in energy transition and circular economy to address sustainability challenges, particularly focusing on the circularity of energy materials and their integration into broader systemic demands.

His research explores the interdependence between energy systems and circular material flows, emphasizing sustainable business parks, industrial symbiosis, and governance complexities. He bridges academic insights with practical applications for regional industries and governments.

Gijsbert co-initiated the MSc program in Industrial Ecology at Delft University of Technology and leads the Delft Circularity Lab. His 2023 inaugural lecture and documentary highlighted the critical synergy between energy transition and circular economy, with publications reflecting these themes.
