Gijs van Dijck is a Professor of Private Law at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law, where he heads the Maastricht Law and Tech Lab and serves as a Principal Investigator at the Brightlands Institute for Smart Society (BISS). His work bridges law and technology, focusing on artificial intelligence, data-driven legal analysis, and empirical research in contract, tort, and insolvency law. He has published in top-tier journals like the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies and collaborated with institutions such as Stanford University and the Netherlands eScience Center.
