Dr Giedre Zlatkute is an Honorary Teaching Fellow at the School of Medicine, University of St Andrews. Her research focuses on child maltreatment prevention, telemedicine applications in addiction treatment, and vision science. She leads the ERICA project, a pan-European initiative developing multidisciplinary training programs to safeguard children and families. Her work includes designing mobile health tools like the Family Needs Checklist for child maltreatment risk assessment and exploring implementation models for telemedicine in opioid use disorder management. Earlier research investigated visual perception in strabismus patients, contributing to neuroscience and ophthalmology fields.
Education: PhD in Vision Science (2019, University of St Andrews), supervised by Dr Dinesh Vishwanath.
Research Interests: Combining public health, digital innovation, and clinical practice to address global challenges in child protection and addiction care. Collaborates extensively across Europe on projects funded by the European Commission.
