Gibbs Kanyongo is a Professor of Educational Statistics and Research and Chair of the Department of Educational Foundations & Leadership at Duquesne University. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Research and Evaluation from Ohio University (2004) and has taught courses including Statistics I-III, Research Methods, and Educational Measurement. His research focuses on statistics education, multivariate analysis of large-scale datasets, and international mathematics education, with particular emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa and Trinidad and Tobago.
Dr. Kanyongo has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, presented at international conferences, and served as an Associate Editor for Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice. He has led grant-funded projects totaling over $100,000, including evaluations of school reforms, mathematics professional development initiatives, and healthcare outcome studies. Notable awards include the 2005 Duquesne University Creative Teaching Award (shared with Dr. Connie Moss).
