University of California, Berkeleyمعرفی
Gianmarco Fifi is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow jointly affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley and the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. Previously, he held the Nicholas Barr Fellowship in European Political Economy at the London School of Economics (LSE). His research focuses on the political economy of crisis management, particularly how economic crises reshape policy preferences and perceptions of European integration. He has published in leading journals including the Journal of Common Market Studies, Review of International Political Economy, and New Political Economy.
His work explores intersections between European integration, crisis governance, and ideological adaptations of political actors. Notable areas include the EU’s climate policy transitions, pandemic response mechanisms, and historical shifts in left-wing economic strategies. Fifi’s research bridges critical theory with empirical analysis, examining how crises act as catalysts for institutional and ideological change.
He holds dual affiliations allowing transatlantic collaboration, and maintains active research links with institutions across Europe and North America. His publications demonstrate a focus on both theoretical innovation and applied policy analysis in transnational contexts.
