Giacomo Calandra di Roccolino

Dr. Giacomo Calandra di Roccolino is a Research Fellow at Fachhochschule Potsdam, specializing in urban planning and architectural history. He currently holds a postdoctoral position under the 'P3Dual' program within the Department of Urban Planning, Construction, and Culture. Prior roles include teaching urban design at HafenCity University Hamburg since 2013 and serving as a postdoc and scientific coordinator for the DFG Graduate School 'Art and Technology' at Technische Universität Hamburg (2011–2013). His doctoral thesis (2010, IUAV University of Venice) examined Berlin's Alexanderplatz urban redesign.

Research focuses on 20th-century German-Italian architectural intersections, particularly the works of Peter Behrens, Bernhard Hermkes, and Josef Paul Kleihues. Ongoing projects explore Kleihues' role in international architectural discourse via the IBA Berlin (1984–1987) and his professional networks. Calandra has curated exhibitions, including a 2014 solo show on Hermkes, and contributed to conferences globally.
