Giacomo Berchi is an Assistant Professor of French and Italian at Stanford University, specializing in Dante studies, epic poetry, and the intersection of literature with cosmology. He earned his Ph.D. in 2024 from Yale University, following M.A. degrees from New York University (2018) and the University of Italian Switzerland, Lugano (2016), and a B.A. from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan (2014).
- Research Focus: Examines literary scenes of oceanic navigation as cosmological metaphors, with a book project titled Chaos analyzing works like Dante's Divine Comedy, Homer's Odyssey, Camões' Os Lusíadas, and Walcott's Omeros.
