Ghulam A. Nadri is a Professor of History and Director of the Asian Studies Center at Georgia State University's College of Arts & Sciences. He specializes in the social and economic history of early modern and colonial South Asia and the Indian Ocean world, with a focus on commodities, merchants, maritime labor markets, and trade dynamics.
- Ph.D. (2007) from Leiden University
- M.A. & M.Phil. (1993 & 1996) from Aligarh Muslim University
His research explores the economic enterprises of Parsi communities in western India (18th-19th centuries), emphasizing political, socio-cultural, and institutional factors. Publications include two monographs (Brill, 2009 & 2016) and studies on indigo, sugar, textiles, and maritime piracy. He held the Newton International Fellowship at the London School of Economics (2011-2012).
