John E. McLeod is a Professor of History at the University of Louisville, specializing in the history of India, Britain, and the British Empire. He has led study abroad programs in Britain (1998), India (2002, 2007), and contributed to undergraduate/graduate education since 1995. His research centers on Indian Princely States and minority groups, including African-Indians, Jewish-Indians, and Parsis.
Education: B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in History from the University of Toronto (1985–1993). His work emphasizes colonial dynamics, minority experiences, and political transitions in South Asia. Major publications include The History of India (2015) and Sovereignty, Power, Control (2007), exploring Princely States' integration into modern India.
