Dr. Gherghe Catalin is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, University of Bucharest, where he has been affiliated since 2002–2015. He earned his PhD in Mathematics in 1999 from the University of Bucharest with a thesis on "Harmonic applications in Riemannian and Hermitian varieties" under Prof. S. Ianus.

His research spans harmonic maps, stability analysis, and geometric structures on manifolds, with publications in Differential Geometry Applications, J. Aust. Math. Soc., and conference proceedings. He has participated in CNCSIS and CERES grant projects since 1998 and served as Contract Director for CNCSIS No. 6154/2000-2001.
Dr. Gherghe has delivered talks at international institutions including La Sapienza University of Rome (1998, 2000) and the University of Bari (1999). He co-authored books on cryptography and projective geometry.
