Leonardo Biliotti is a Professor at the Department of Mathematical, Physical, and Computer Sciences, University of Parma, Italy. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Campinas (Brazil) and has held visiting positions at institutions including USP (Brazil), Universidade de Granada (Spain), and Ruhr-Universitat Bochum (Germany).
- Born in Florence, Italy (1972)
- Education: Laurea in Mathematics (1996), PhD in Mathematics (2002)
His research focuses on Differential Geometry, Symplectic Geometry, and Lie Group Actions, particularly their applications to Kähler manifolds, moment maps, and geometric stability. His work explores connections between geometric function theory, polar representations, and infinite-dimensional Riemannian geometry.
Recent publications analyze gradient maps for real reductive group actions, convexity theorems, and stability of measures on Kähler manifolds. Key trends in his work include geometric invariant theory, singularities of exponential maps, and taut submanifolds in symmetric spaces.
He has supervised students and research associates such as Niccolò Pederzani, Michela Zedda, and Alberto Raffero. His grant participation includes PRIN and FIRB projects on geometric analysis and complex manifolds.
