Ghazwan Al-Haji is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Science and Technology (ITN) under the Communications and Transport Systems school. His research focuses on road traffic safety, intelligent transport systems (ITS), urban mobility planning, and accident prediction models. He actively contributes to international projects in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, emphasizing curriculum development and institutional capacity building.
He teaches courses such as 'Traffic Safety Management' and 'Traffic Planning, Safety and Infrastructure' at both BSc and MSc levels. His work includes leading the Erasmus+ project 'Modernisation, Development and Capacity Building of Master Curriculum in Traffic Safety in Asian Universities' (2020–2024). He is also an Assistant Coordinator for the MSc program in Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics at LiU.
Research interests span traffic modeling and simulation, behavioral studies, and safety audits. He holds memberships in the Nordic Traffic Safety Academy, the Editorial Board of 'Transport Problems,' and the Scientific Committee of the International Conference on Traffic and Logistic Engineering (ICTLE).
His publications emphasize cross-regional best practices in traffic safety, sustainable urban transport systems, and comparative analyses between EU/GCC countries.
