Ghazala Bhatti

Ghazala Bhatti is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Education, University of Oxford. Her work focuses on social justice, intercultural education, and the education of marginalized communities, particularly migrant youth, ethnic minorities, and bilingual children. She is a founder of the Social Justice and Intercultural Education network at ECER and has collaborated on EU and Nordic projects addressing issues like democratic citizenship and refugee education.

Her research spans inclusive education, language policies, and institutional ethnography. She has taught at universities in England and held visiting roles in the US, Italy, and Hungary. Bhatti has contributed to editorial boards of journals like Gender and Education and Race, Ethnicity and Education.

Her recent work includes studies on migrant youth in Northern Europe and special educational needs for refugee children. She has authored/co-authored over two dozen books and chapters, emphasizing ethnographic methodologies and policy interventions.
