Dr. Gertrude Cotter is a Lecturer in the School of Education at University College Cork (UCC), specializing in Global Citizenship and Development Education (GCDE). She serves as Academic Coordinator of the Praxis Project, a transformative UCC initiative integrating GCDE into university-wide pedagogy, research, and policy. She also chairs UCC's Global Engagement Committee and is a key member of the Race Equality Network and ISS21 Populism and the Rise of the Far-Right Research Cluster.

Recent Publications highlight GCDE pedagogy, community-linked learning, and interdisciplinary approaches to social justice. She has secured over €450,000 in grants, including from Trócaire, Atlantic Philanthropies, and Irish Aid. Her CRAOL Distinction Award (2018) and Arts in Context Award (2015) recognize her innovative community-radio collaborations.
