Gerry Mshana

Dr. Gerry Mshana is a medical anthropologist at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Mwanza, Tanzania. His work focuses on structural interventions addressing social and economic drivers of HIV vulnerability, particularly among young people. He has contributed to research on alcohol taxation, pricing, and packaging (e.g., sachets) and their impact on drinking norms, as well as social-cultural perspectives on HIV/AIDS and non-communicable diseases.
