معرفی
Gerren McDonald is an Instructor in Exercise Physiology at the University of Winnipeg, where he also completed his Master of Science (MSc). He holds certifications as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) and Exercise is Medicine Level II (EMC II). His research focuses on children’s exercise physiology and environmental physiology, particularly in extreme conditions such as hypothermia rewarming and aquatic emergencies.
Education:
- MSc (University of Winnipeg)
Research Interests: Dr. McDonald explores how environmental factors influence human physiological responses, including thermal regulation, cardiovascular adaptations, and survival mechanisms in extreme environments. His work bridges clinical applications, safety protocols, and exercise science, with a focus on optimizing human performance and safety in demanding conditions.
Publications: His research has been published in journals such as Wilderness & Environmental Medicine and Aviation, Space, and Environmental Medicine, addressing topics like hypothermia rewarming strategies and cardiovascular responses to water immersion.
Professional Involvement: As President of the Manitoba Kinesiologists Association, he advocates for professional standards in kinesiology and exercise physiology.
