Gerrad Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological & Ecological Engineering at Oregon State University's College of Agricultural Sciences. His research focuses on environmental health, combining statistical and machine learning models to address complex interactions in environmental systems. He explores water quality through machine learning-driven analyses of landscape processes, and investigates soil geochemistry to understand trace element dynamics linked to human health under climate change.
His work spans field-to-global scales, emphasizing the application of advanced analytics to environmental challenges such as wastewater treatment optimization, pollution source tracking, and nutrient cycling in soils. Jones has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed publications since 2006, with recent work emphasizing machine learning applications in environmental forensics and trace element modeling. His research integrates interdisciplinary approaches from environmental engineering, chemistry, and data science to address pressing ecological and human health issues.
